What You Should Know About Spinal Decompression

By Elsa Noel

Over time, many tests, researches, and studies have been conducted to further unlock the many hidden secrets of the human body, but to no avail. It has remained a wondrous mystery, sharing only the things they want experts to know. This human body is an independent mechanism by itself, as it is composed of so many smaller groups of functionally related organs that allow human beings to do what they want and need to.

But, even thought the brain is the central processing unit of the entire system, it is rendered useless if the nerves connected to it are in not so good conditions. These network of thin and narrow nerves are the only connection of the brain to the rest of the body. If these are severed, the impulses from nerve endings cannot reach the brain and it cannot also give out specific instructions to the part of the physique affected. Indeed when the nerves and spine are damaged such as the case of spinal decompression conroe, the rest suffers along with it.

This phenomenon known as spinal decompression is often said to be one of the contributory factors for developing sciatica, as per the experts back at Conroe, TX. This ailment is due to the damage inflicted upon the sciatic nerve at the lower extremity of body. It basically affects one side of the body only, subjecting it often to unbearable pain at times. This condition is also known as lumbar radiculopathy.

When one has sciatica, he feels extreme pain in the lower extremities, specifically from the lower back part to the butt down to a single leg. Other symptoms can also encompass pain, inflammation, and a certain weakness in the affected leg or part. There are also cases when the pain can originate from the knee, though these rarely happen.

This condition can be brought about by many things, but doctors and other experts are adamant that spine decompression is a key to why these things happen. The decompression often happens when the spinal canal narrows down. This narrowing can be due to hernia on the discs, which can pinch the spinal cord and prevent impulses from flowing in.

It can also be caused by stenosis. This is another condition that affects the nerves. This inhibits one from being able to use his body parts because the messages from the central unit has not reached the destined area due to compression of nerves.

This can also result in wallet sciatica. This condition is also called Piriformis syndrome. It earned its moniker from the fact that sitting on wallets kept in back pockets can trigger them to happen.

These physicians have tried to find certain methods that can be applied to relieve the excruciating pain caused by the abnormality. One effective tested method involves total bed rest. A patient must be subjected to total relaxation to relieve the pressure and the pain.

There are even physical therapy sessions that can help to ease the pain. During these sessions, people are taught about certain exercises. These will help condition the back. There are also stretching exercises that will help patients out. They can also be given mega doses of antidepressants. This will help numb the pain so that the brain will not be able to perceive it.
